Heat therapy (i.e. thermotherapy) is a treatment method based on transferring thermal energy to the body by conduction, convection or radiation. It involves subjecting diseased areas to high temperatures.
Two types of heat therapy procedures can be distinguished. These are local treatments and general treatments.
